About Us

Lattendales Centre for Wellbeing provides a sanctuary or retreat for those who feel in need of rest, whether spiritually, mentally or physically.

The house has been in the hands of the Friends Fellowship of Healing since the early 1970s. Since then thousands of people have experienced the benefits of staying at Lattendales.

Lattendales Centre for Healing is situated in a small village in the Cumbrian countryside near the Lake District in the UK. This is an ideal base for relaxation, exploration and various creative activities. We trust you will experience a restful and healing atmosphere.

“The house and staff make for a comfortable second home. Lattendales is a jewel in one of God’s great counties.”

Living well at Lattendales

Lattendales offers a peaceful healing atmosphere, a haven from our hectic lives, lifting the spirit of all who enter the house and gardens. Our home cooking is healthy and wholesome, using organic ingredients where possible. We also cater for special diets.

‘I found the pleasantness and willingness of the staff first class. Thank you.’

An ideal location for groups

Lattendales, with its calm atmosphere, is an ideal place for groups and we are able to take bookings just for the day or for longer periods. We can offer meeting rooms of different sizes, including a sitting room with piano.

’‘excellent venue for group gatherings’

Eat healthy – be healthy!

Lattendales’ Healthy Eating Programme is designed to help maintain good health and to assist healing.

  • Our meals are wholesome, using mainly organic ingredients
  • All food is freshly cooked and baked.
  • We cater for vegetarian, traditional and special diets.
  • Lunch is vegetarian, while meat or fish is served at dinner time.
  • Packed lunches are available.

Our garden: a place of healing

Gardens are well known for their therapeutic qualities, so walk along the pathways with their views over our fields to the Cumbrian landscape beyond and enjoy the colours, scents and textures of the ornamental beds and the tranquillity of the pond.

  • We are aiming to restore the neglected kitchen garden to produce organic fruit, vegetables and herbs for our own use.

“The gardens, with their unusual plants, are lovely, & the food divine!”
